In January 2011 we started our 22nd
year in Newbury and so I think we can say we have arrived and we are
established. I believe we have built an excellent reputation in the town
as a caring and professional dental practice, providing a wide range of
services to an excellent standard.
You will find us on the first floor of St. Mary’s House in Newbury, just a minute from the railway station. You will find the practice has a warm and welcoming ambiance.
We
consider our patients as friends and many will just drop in for a
coffee and to show us their holiday or wedding photos. We are especially
proud of the number of people for whom we have made a tremendous
difference to their self confidence by improving their smile and also
for those for whom we have entirely changed their fearful feelings
towards dentists and dental treatment.
We
were the first dental practice in Berkshire to have been accredited by
BUPA DentalCover 1994, a mark of our commitment to excellence in General
Dental Practice. You will also find our team to be welcoming,
experienced and knowledgeable and will understand your requirements and
aim to exceed to expectations.
Our
aim is to provide you with the service you require but we take special
care to consider the long-term benefits of treatment options rather than
short-term quick fixes. We usually reserve time for emergencies every
day and in any event you will not normally need to wait for more than a
week or two to book a regular appointment.
If you are anxious about dentistry , we have a wealth of expertise to help you. Just talk to us and let us know you concerns
Richard Charon BDS (VU Manc. 1975) - Dental Sedation Teacher
In 2003, based on 30 years of experience, he developed and ran the first of his quarterly workshops for Dentists, Dental Nurses, Dental Therapists and Dental nurses. These professionals have traveled from all over the UK and Ireland to spend a day, usually in the practice, being taught the technique by Richard, assisted by his wife Chris Charon. They have travelled to Newbury from Inverness to the Channel Islands and from Galway, on the West coast of Ireland, to Kent and most places in between to learn this technique. He has also traveled to Northumberland and Oldham to teach groups in these areas. One dentist, Dr.Anne O'Donnell, from Wexford, has invited Richard to deliver the teaching three times in Ireland. Twice in Wexford and once in Dublin with plans for a return trip in 2012. This is Dr.O'Donnell's testimonial for Richard.
This year (2012) he also undertook a basic teaching award ( C&G level4) to complement his teaching activities, at Newbury College.
Richard has had a number of articles published on the subject in the dental press and in November 2011, Chris has had her first commissioned article published in the Dental Nursing Journal on this topic, so congratulations to her.
Messages from Dental Masters
Richard's expertise in this area has been sought out and he has joined some of the leading names in UK Dentistry in contributing a chapter in a book to be published at the end of 2011. The book is aimed at other dentists and is called: Messages from Dental Masters compiled by Dr Stephen Hudson BDS MFGDP DRDP.
